Kirti Kantilal Oswal, a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in the dynamic landscape of Big 4 consulting firms. Kirti embarked on his entrepreneurial venture in 2024 after making significant contributions as a Partner at B S R, where he honed his expertise across diverse sectors including Life Sciences, Insurance, IT/ITES, EPC, Oil & Gas, Financial Services, and Real Estate.
Beginning from the year 1999, Kirti started his professional journey as an article trainee at A R Krishnan & Co. where he worked in diverse areas including Audit and Tax Compliance. Post qualifying in the year 2003, Kirti started his journey in Big 4 by working as an Indirect Tax professional in EY. Later he moved to RSM, PwC and then served in KPMG for almost 14 years, working across divergent areas including advisory, compliance, and litigations. During his tenure at PwC, he was on short secondment with the Global Indirect Tax Leader in Belgium, showcasing his global perspective and expertise in the international arena. During his professional journey one of the key learning in becoming successful professional is building a long-lasting relationship with all the stakeholders be it Clients, Seniors and Team members.
Kirti's rich experience includes intricate structuring and due diligence in numerous large-scale M&A transactions, ensuring clients navigate the complexities seamlessly. With an astute understanding of the ever-evolving tax landscape, Kirti has played a pivotal role in guiding clients through significant transitions, notably during the VAT regime and more recently, in the era of GST. His proficiency extends to assisting clients in obtaining various Indirect tax benefits from both Central and State Governments, such as PSI, PLI, and other benefits under FTP, fostering growth for new projects and expansions.
Kirti's impact extends beyond the boardroom as he has been at the forefront of handling complex litigations in Indirect tax, collaborating with some of the top Senior Counsels in India. His comprehensive approach also encompasses Customs Classification, SVB closure, AEO certification, and representation before Central and State Governments on policy matters.
A passionate advocate for knowledge sharing, Kirti has conducted numerous training sessions on GST, and other Indirect Tax areas across various companies, industry forums, and study circles in cities nationwide. His commitment to thought leadership is evident through articles published in several newspapers and his significant contribution to KPMG’s Service Tax Publication over several years.
